World Hearing Day 2024

As a prime supplier of hearing and sensory equipment, Hearing Products International Limited recognise World Hearing Day as an event of great importance, the 3rd March 2024 is a date in the calendar to raise awareness of how debilitating hearing loss can be.

The theme for World Hearing Day this year is Changing Mindsets, make ear and hearing care a reality for all, focusing on overcoming the challenges related to societal misperceptions and stigmatised mindsets about ear and hearing problems.

As things stand over 80% of hearing problems remains untreated across the world and is attributed to Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Depression, Cardiovascular Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sleep Apnea, Balance Problems, and an increased risk of falls.

Around 900,000 people are severely or profoundly deaf in the UK alone.

Approximately 12 million people in the UK are none hearing, making it the second most common disability.

Hearing loss has often been referred to as an invisible disability, not just because of the lack of visible symptoms but because it has long been stigmatised in communities.

Hearing Products International believe being able to hear should be inclusive not exclusive, so let’s all support World Hearing Day and make a difference, if you want to get more involved visit their website World Hearing Day 2024 – World Hearing Day
